Edward Badolato 

Mr. Badolato is a retired Colonel in the US Marine Corps who has served in nearly every country in the Middle East and Persian Gulf where he organized various special counterterrorism operations and other security activities. He has commanded Marine units at the platoon, company, battalion, and regimental level, and he served three combat tours in Viet Nam.

He served under Presidents Reagan and Bush as a Deputy Assistant Secretary at the Department of Energy where he was the principal director of security, energy contingency planning and international energy security activities.  In this capacity, he was the Secretary's key troubleshooter for security and energy emergency planning.  Among his unique international activities, he organized and led consortiums of the National Weapons Laboratories’ best nuclear weapons experts on technical exchanges with Russian counterparts on nuclear tests.

Upon leaving DOE in 1989, he founded Contingency Management Services, Inc., an international security consulting firm.   He led his company’s efforts to clean up the bombs and explosives after Operation Desert Storm in Kuwait's Umm Ghadir and Wafra oil fields for Texaco and Getty Oil Companies.  In November 2002, CMS was acquired by the Shaw Group., and he became Executive Vice President for Homeland Security.  The Shaw Group is a Fortune 500 company with worldwide responsibilities and widespread capabilities in the area of protection and response to Weapons of Mass Destruction—Chemical, Biological, Nuclear and Radiological, as well as extensive critical infrastructure protection capabilities. 

He is currently heavily involved in Post 9/11 security assessments of US critical infrastructure, Homeland Security matters, and consultations with major chemical, energy, and industrial process companies to prevent terrorist attacks. In this regard, he has led security vulnerability assessment teams in the conduct of over 150 assessments of various energy and petrochemical facilities in the US and abroad.

Mr. Badolato frequently appears on major TV news programs as a Homeland Security, military, and terrorism expert, including CNN, ABC, Fox News, Hannity & Colmes, America’s Most Wanted, the News Hour with Jim Lehrer, 60-Minutes, CNBC, Australian National TV, VOA, and Russia's TV Channel 32.  His commentary also appears in major newspapers and magazines.  He is an adjunct faculty professor at Georgetown University where he teaches Graduate Business School courses on international marketing and supply chain distribution.
