Davie J. Breaux has been Director of Operations for the Greater
Lafourche Port Commission since 1994. In the past 10 years
the Port has experienced phenomenal growth and success.
Davie is a 1986 graduate of Nicholls State University with a
degree in Business Administration. He worked for Civil
Engineering and Architectural firms as a draftsman, surveyor,
and job inspector while he earned his degree. He then
worked 12 years for a General Contractor with the latter eight
years as Vice President and General Manager. He is a 1995
graduate of the International Program for Port Planning and
Management, a 1996 graduate of the Community Development
Institute-Year 1, and a 1996 Graduate of Leadership Lafourche.
He has been a board member of the Lafourche Parish Planning
Commission since 1998 and has been serving as the Commission’s
Chairman since 2002. His 28 years of designing, planning
and construction experience makes him a valuable asset to the
Greater Lafourche Port Commission. When Davie left private
industries and started working with the Greater Lafourche Port
Commission, there were 14 companies on 200 acres and a 4 million
dollar annual budget. Today, there are over 130 companies
on 1,000 developed acres with over a billion dollars in
infrastructure, and a yearly budget in excess of 30 million
dollars.
