Powell Kinney is currently an undergraduate senior in Tulane University’s Biomedical Engineering Department from which he will be graduating with Honors in May of this year. Before joining Team Gray, he had worked three summers as part of the Digital Mapping, Charting, and Geodesy Analysis Program (DMAP) at the Naval Research Laboratory and two summers researching developmental brain physiology at Louisiana State University’s Health Science Center. As a member of Team Gray, Powell helped develop the geospatial, obstacle detection, speed control, and path-planning systems used in Kat-5 and was also responsible for many of its electrical systems. This fall, Powell will be attending Louisiana State University School of Medicine.
