As
licensing director with the DuPont Intellectual Assets Business, Dr. Robin L.
Kump is responsible for licensing both commercial technologies and research and
development technologies to companies around the world. He assists DuPont’s
businesses in assessing their IP and selecting potential customers, along with
negotiating license agreements.
DuPont welcomed Dr. Kump to its Petrochemical Department at the Experimental
Station in 1981, immediately following his completion of graduate school. He
has 20 years of experience with the corporation in the areas of research and
development, management, finance, and new business development. During his time
with DuPont, Dr. Kump has successfully held assignments in Delaware, Texas,
South Carolina, and New Jersey.
Dr. Kump holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry in Chemistry from Tulane
University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He received a doctorate in the area of
inorganic chemistry from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

issues, engineering and economic tradeoffs will be discussed. The presentation
will focus on the negotiations and compromises between the various groups
interested in the solutions. Some simple strategies that have proven useful
will be reviewed.
