Jim Stickley

As CTO and Vice President of Engineering for TraceSecurity, Stickley has been instrumental in directing the TraceSecurity strategy. Stickley is responsible for developing and releasing multiple versions of the software used by hundreds of clients today. Stickley is in charge of the guiding principles and structure of all TraceSecurity solutions including products and services. Stickley has over ten years in the hi-technology industry.

Stickley is one of the original founders of TraceSecurity, created through the merger of PatchPortal, and Blaze Technologies. Prior to PatchPortal, Stickley worked in management roles at Blaze Technologies and other security companies.

Additionally, Stickley is a renowned security expert. He has been involved in thousands of security services for financial institutions, Fortune 100 corporations, healthcare facilities, legal firms, and insurance companies.

He has been a consultant for 20/20, Network Associates, numerous magazines and newspapers.  Stickley has also been the feature story in many publications including Business Week, CNN, PC Magazine and Security Focus.

Furthermore, he serves as a speaker at numerous security related tradeshows, conventions, seminars and forums throughout the US covering topics that range from basic network security to national cyber terrorism. Stickley also writes a monthly column for Secure Convergence Journal called Network Sideline.

Through the years Stickley has discovered numerous security vulnerabilities in products such as firewalls, PKI servers and online banking applications.


Maintaining Data Security in an Open Society

Connectivity between organizations has become mission critical in today's data society.  With this open communication comes new security threats.  In this session we discuss various attack techniques specifically designed against high risk facilities and how to defend against them.  Topics include remote attacks such as the latest in email and phone scams as well as numerous on site attacks.  Both physical security and network security are at risk and need to be addressed.  This session will include numerous examples and demonstrate specific attacks used by the presenter as part of his job to steal from and infiltrate corporate America.
