The School of Science and Engineering at Tulane University has a long tradition of excellence in science and engineering education. Low student to faculty ratio, outstanding students and a distinguished, research oriented faculty with a strong commitment to education yield the ideal learning environment. A low student/faculty ratio (three seniors for every faculty member) insures small class size and allows faculty members to be accessible to students for both advising and collaboration on research projects.
The School of Science and Engineering offers fourteen programs leading to the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. Each program gives students a solid foundation in math and science and a large component of humanities and social science in addition to program specific material. Every student is exposed to the latest developments in their fields and cutting-edge research facilities by faculty active in their research fields.
Undergraduate students at Tulane have many opportunities for personal and professional development. Undergraduates are encouraged to work in research laboratories, pursue internships, study abroad and become involved in student organizations and professional societies.
